According to statistics released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, the country’s stainless steel output totaled 232,161 tons in August, down by 3% from a month ago and falling by 2.9% year on year.
Among them, 124,172 tons were chrome-based stainless steel, up by 1.2% and 107,898 tons were nickel-based stainless steel, falling by 7.5%, both compared to the figures in a month ago.
Meanwhile, the inventory of stainless steel products owned by the Japanese steelmakers totaled 127,832 tons at end of August, rising by 5.4% from the previous month |
