According to statistics released by the US Department of Commerce (DOC), the US imported 2.213 million tons of steel products in September, rising by 7.8% year on year while falling by 8.8% from a month ago.
Also, the country’s imports of steel products have declined for consecutive five months.
In September, the country’s imports of most steel products except hot rolled steel plates and coils all declined, compared to the figures in August.
The imports of deformed steel bars, galvanized steel plates and hot rolled plates dropped by 39.9%, 34% and 28.6% year on year respectively.
