Reportedly, the shipments of steel products from the US and Canada regionally down for August year-over-year, citing the slowing steel market in North America.
In August, the US service centers’ steel shipment reached 3.65 million tons, falling by 1% year on year. The year-to-date shipments amounted to 29 million tons, up by 4.9% year on year.
Meanwhile, service centers in Canada shipped 513,400 tons of steel products in August, decreasing by 5.1% year on year. The year-to-date shipments were at 4.29 million tons, up by 0.9% year on year.
