According to the report of the American Iron and Steel Institute, US’s steel import permit application totaled 2.796 million net tons in June, decreasing by 5% from 2.939 million net tons in a month ago.
The import permits for finished steel totaled 2.171 million net tons in June, declining by 7% from the preliminary imports of 2.323 million tons in May.
In June, South Korea was the largest finished steel import permit applications offshore country with 331,000 net tons ,rising by 3%; China was the second largest one with 195,000 net tons, soaring by 26%; Japan was the third largest one with 152,000 net tons, falling by 18%, all compared to that in a month earlier. |
