According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.882 million short tons of crude steel in the week ended on June 16th, down by 1.8% from 1.886 million short tons in a week earlier.
However, the figures rose by 2.1% in comparison of 1.864 million short tons in the same period of a year ago.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US steelmaking facilities was at 76.2%, lower than 76.3% in a week earlier. |
