China's seamless steel pipe price continued to climb

August 4 MetalBiz--China's steel pipe enterprises frequently raising their EXW prices, the market prices of seamless steel pipe keep boosting.

In Shanghai market, the quotation of 219x6 mm (GB/8163) steel pipe produced in Shandong, etc. jumped to 4850-4900 yuan/ton. Last week, the mainstream price was quoted at 4700-4750 yuan/ton. Shandong Baosteel’s products of the same standard were quoted at 5000 yuan/ton, but trading at the price of 4900 yuan/ton.

"The price adjustment of steel pipe was too fast, the Shanghai market has the rising space of at least 150 yuan/ton,"a Shanghai merchant said. Yantai Yuanhua Steel Pipe on July 29 lifted 219x6mm steel pipe price by 100 yuan/ton to 4600 yuan/ton. The EXW price of Chengdu Steel is brought up by 200-500 yuan/ton.

EU will levy 17.7-39.2% anti-dumping tax rate on Chinese seamless steel pipes, while the originally temporary anti-dumping tax rate was 15-24.2%.The domestic steel pipe manufacturers expressed, the adjudication would make it very difficult for them to maintain the export to EU, although market shares in EU are small. China’s seamless steel pipe export in H1 fell by 33.43% to 1.57mln tons year on year.
